For anxious patients, children and longer procedures, we work with Joburg Sedation, a mobile sedation service.
Who is sedation for?
- Adults and children who feel very anxious about dental treatment
- Children who can’t cope with treatment while awake
- Longer procedures, such as several fillings or wisdom tooth removal, in one visit
- Patients with a strong gag reflex
- Some patients with special needs
How it works
Joburg Sedation is a mobile sedation service. Their sedation practitioner comes to our practice with a second health practitioner and all the monitoring and emergency equipment, so you have your treatment in our chair with Dr H.B Mohamed.
Before your appointment you’ll receive instructions on fasting and medication. You’ll need an adult to take you home afterwards.
Sedation fees
Sedation is billed separately by Joburg Sedation, who also claim from your medical aid. Their cash rates are published on their website.
